Vision
To create a safe, efficient, and collaborative aviation environment by representing the collective interests of member airlines and supporting the continuous improvement of airport operations and passenger services.
Mission
To serve as the unified voice of airline operators by working closely with airport authorities, government agencies, and aviation stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, safety, security, and service quality for the benefit of airlines and passengers.
History & Background
The Airline Operators Committee Dhaka (AOC DAC) was established to serve as a unified platform for international and domestic airlines operating at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, Bangladesh. As air traffic to and from Dhaka expanded and the number of airlines increased, the need arose for a structured forum where airline operators could collectively address operational matters, coordinate with airport stakeholders, and represent their common interests.
Following the global aviation practice of forming Airline Operators Committees at major international airports, airline representatives in all airline members of HSIA Dhaka came together to create AOC DAC. The committee was designed to facilitate open dialogue through various AOC Sub Committees and cooperation among member airlines while strengthening engagement with key aviation authorities and service providers along with developing new leaders for our future aviation world.
Over the years, AOC DAC has evolved into an important coordination body within the aviation community at Dhaka Airport . The committee works closely with organizations such as the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Authority, The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism (MoCAT) of Bangladesh, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh , Ministry of Labour and Employment Bangladesh , Various Embassies, Association of Travel Agent of Bangladesh (ATAB), Ground handling agencies, Intelligence Agencies and other aviation partners. Through regular meetings, consultations, and joint initiatives, AOC DAC helps address operational challenges, improve safety and security procedures, and enhance passenger facilitation.
In addition to resolving day-to-day operational issues, the committee also plays a constructive role in supporting airport development initiatives, operational efficiency, and service quality improvements not only for Dhaka Airport but also other Airports in Bangladesh . AOC DAC encourages collaboration and promotes alignment with international aviation standards and recommended practices advocated by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other global aviation bodies.
Today, the Airline Operators Committee Dhaka stands as a vital forum for cooperation among airlines, contributing to smoother airport operations and supporting the continued growth and modernization of Bangladesh’s aviation sector. ✈️
